Field Trips & Upcoming Events

  • Sandstone Candle Works Fundraiser

    WECPTA is partnering with local candle shop, Sandstone Candle works, to spread some holiday cheer, by selling candles! Their candles offer the perfect aroma for your home or office, and make wonderful holiday gifts, for friends, family, or a fun white elephant party! 

    Estimated date candles will be available for pick-up is December 12th.

    • WECPTA will raise $5 for every 8 oz. candle sold, and $10 for every 16 oz. candle sold.
    • Candles can be purchased on our givebacks store using the following link (this option preferred):  https://wecpta1.givebacks.com/shop; or
    • by completing and sending this form with a check made payable to Westlake Early Childhood PTA. Please email Julie Nguyen with any questions or where to submit payment.

    Available Scents:

    VANILLA ~ Vanilla sometimes gets a bad rap as being boring but this classic scent is a crown favorite. You can’t go wrong with the rich scent of vanilla filling your home.

    HONEYCRISP ~ Crisp, sweet and tart apple hits your nose with a tangy undertone.

    CINNAMON ~ Strong and spicy with notes of cinnamon bark and clove, this smells like a fresh cinnamon stick.

    MUG & BRUSH ~ Reminds us of an old-time barbershop. Tingly aftershave with the warmth of leather. LEMONGRASS ~ A clean and uplifting blend of lemon and herbal greens. It’s a bright earthy, citrus scent that is on the stronger side.

    LAVENDER ~ This calming scent smells like just like fresh cut lavender sprigs from a summer garden. A relaxing and timeless scent known for its ability to promote peace and ease stress.

    HOT COCOA ~ This smells like a rich milk chocolate topped with fresh whipped cream and warmed to perfection.

    PINE NEEDLES ~ A classic holiday fragrance, Pine Needles has an invigorating, clean scent of pine, reminding you of a freshly cut Christmas tree.

    MISTLETOE ~ This is a fan favorite. Mistletoe has a soft pine scent combined with a sweet hint of berry. FILL YOUR OWN ~ You are giving the gift of custom fragrance. Bring your jar and card to Sandstone Candle Works to pour your own candle and create a unique fragrance.

  • December 2025 General Membership Meeting / Holiday Social

    Our December meeting will be off-site. We will conduct a little bit of business, and follow it up with dinner and holiday cheer (for all to hear).

    Appetizers and non-alcoholic beverages provided by WECPTA. Full dinner menu and drinks are paid by members. This meeting is adults only.

    If you plan to attend and want to participate in the gift exchange, please bring a wrapped present up to $20 value.

    We are asking attendees to register so we plan enough appetizers.

  • Babysitting Movie Night at WES (Friday)

    WECPTA wants to help parents squeeze in an adult evening out, whether its to shop, go to dinner, or get some much needed R&R among holiday chaos. This event is for children ages 3 to 10.

    Kiddos can be dropped at WES elementary school from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. where we will be showing Frozen and have winter themed activities. 

    We will provide each child with Pirates Booty and Apple Sauce Pouches.

    Please have your child bring a water bottle and something cozy to cuddle up with during the movie (blanket, stuffie, etc). They are welcome to wear their pajamas. 

    Unfortunately we are not able to help with toileting or diaper changes. If your child wears a diaper they are welcome to come but we will need to call you if they require an immediate change. 

    Pricing:  

    • Board members: $10 for first kid + $5 per additional sibling

    • WECPTA members: $15 for first kid + $5 per additional sibling

    • Nonmembers: $20 for first kid + $5 per additional sibling

    Please only register children whom you are their parent or guardian; we cannot accept non-sibling children.

  • Spring 2026 Tots to Teens Registration

    WECPTA Tots to Teens is the resale of gently used baby, children and maternity clothing, children/baby furniture, toys, games and miscellaneous items. Vendors price and sell their own items and keep all the profits. Seller spaces go quickly, so we recommend registering for a space as soon as you've confirmed your availability and desire to sell.

    SPACES

    • Selling spaces are approximately 10' x 10'
    • Sellers must BRING YOUR OWN TABLES
    • All tables, sale items, and displays must fit into your space
    • Cribs and beds cannot be assembled

    BIG ITEM AREA

    • Limit 2 items per purchased selling space, or purchase a Big Item Area Only space for up to 4 additional items
    • Additional details to follow in the seller packet 

    You may register online (a convenience fee is included in all online payments) through this event listing. To pay by check, please contact kiddiekloset@wecpta.org. Your space is not reserved until your payment is received. If you register and pay online, you will receive an email confirmation once your space is reserved. Spaces are sold on a first come, first serve basis, with priority given to WECPTA members in good standing. Space reservations are non-refundable. Please check your calendar before reserving a space.

    A detailed Seller Information Packet will be provided VIA EMAIL prior to the sale. Please remember to be courteous and respectful of the WECPTA volunteers who planned this event as well as your fellow sellers.

FIELD TRIP GUIDELINES

  1. According to the WECPTA Standing Rules, Board Members have first priority to sign up for field trips when the information is published. All members in good standing can sign up for field trips 15 minutes prior to each General Meeting (i.e. starting at 6:45 pm). Sign-ups for free field trips can also be done online, or via e-mail to the field trip coordinator.
  2. For outings that require a fee, payment is REQUIRED prior to the event, by the sign-up deadline. You are not officially signed up until payment is received. Payment can be made at the monthly WECPTA meetings or by mailing or dropping off money to the trip coordinator.
  3. Board members receive an additional subsidy for field trips as a perk for their time and effort.
  4. Payment in cash is acceptable, however, online payment or a check made payable to WECPTA is preferred as it is significantly easier to track.
  5. Separate payment (separate check) is needed for each outing. This makes it considerably easier to accommodate different committee members planning different field trips. Your cooperation with this is greatly appreciated!
  6. In the event you are unable to attend an outing, please contact the trip coordinator ASAP. Many of the field trips are limited, and by signing up but not attending, you are restricting others from participating. Depending on the conditions of the field trip, we may not be able to refund your payment.
  7. If a field trip is cancelled due to low sign ups and/or inclement weather or other conditions, a refund will be issued. Any refunds issued will be available at the next meeting.
  8. Please plan to arrive 10 minutes before scheduled outings to assist the coordinator(s) with any necessary check in. Remember: the coordinators will have their children anxious to get started with the outing as well, and will not want to be stuck waiting for latecomers!
  9. WECPTA members may sign up or purchase tickets for field trips at the subsidized rate ONLY for their immediate family (including grandparents). If space is available, other family or friends may be signed up at the non-subsidized rate. Please be sure to note if you are signing up non-members.
