    A number of break-ins have been occurring in the City of Westlake recently.  In an exchange with an Auxiliary Police Officer, it appears as if a number of these break-ins are taking place during the late afternoon / early evening hours, including Fridays and Saturdays.  

    In response to this, the Auxiliary Officers will be increasing patrols in neighborhoods.  

    Please pay special attention as holiday parties may give opportune time for a car / individuals to go unnoticed in a neighborhood.

    Please DO NOT HESITATE to contact the WPD if you suspect anything suspicious in your neighborhood, i.e. strange cars, people using things to carry items which are unusual (pillowcases, etc.), 'solicitors' without approved City documents.  The non-emergency number is 440-871-3311. For an emergency and / or dangerous situation, call 911.

    Graco is voluntarily recalling older versions of its Quattro and Metrolite Strollers.  This recall is related to the possibility of infant / toddler entrapment when NOT used with the infant car seat.

    Evenflo Co. has issued a recall for nearly 14,000 combination booster seats (Maestro style) due to the possibility of cracking.  The company intends to send notices to owners and to issue a reinforcing bracket.

    With the start of school inevitably comes the dreaded discussions of lice.  These pesky things, while not dangerous, are highly contagious and can be difficult to get rid of.  If you get a call from school saying that your child has lice, one of the options available to you is a lice removal service.  The Plain Dealer recently featured Bernadette's L.R.C. in an article.  To read about their services, please visit:
